    Sandro Santantonio

    Simplicity is a philosophy that should
    be applied to everything in life

    Sandro Santantonio was born in Lecce in 1977 and attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where he graduated with top marks in 2000. During his studies, he started collaborating with important designers and participated in national and international exhibitions

    He founded Sandro Santantonio Design (SSD), with the contribution of Andrea Cantù in 2004, a working group aimed at the new ideology of Design and capable of combining multiple functions in a single structure. It deals with Architecture, Interior & Industrial Design, Graphics, Packaging & Fashion Design, focusing on trend research, the study of materials and new technologies. This approach has enabled him to quickly expand his client base by collaborating with leading companies and counting various awards such as the Young&Design 2004 for the Flower armchair, two Young&Design 2005 special mentions for the Dune sofa line and the Zoe lamp collection, the Young&Design 2006 special mention for the Wave table, the First Prize at the Abitare il Mare 2006 naval competition organised by Seatec- Carrara Fiere, Young&Design 2007 for the Trinity lamp collection which received a mention at the Compasso d'Oro in 2009. Again, the ABC lamp for Prandina was chosen in 2007 for the Milano Love Design exhibition, in 2008 to furnish the International Film Festival in Rome and in 2009 by the Oderzo Prize and the Venice Biennale chose the Palace sofa designed for Casamania for its installations. The Muse series of lamps, designed for Axolight, was exhibited at the GUM Department Mebelissima in Russia organised by Mondadori and received the 2010 Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum and a mention for the 2011 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. Sandro Santantonio has been invited several times as a guest lecturer during design lessons at the Brera Academy in Milan, where he has been teaching an industrial design course since 2009. Also in the field of teaching, 2008 saw the start of his collaboration with the ISAD Institute in Milan, where he teaches product design. The selection of a number of products by Pitti Immagine and the PRADA brand is of great importance, as well as TV programmes, X-Factor , Grande Fratello, Mai dire Goal, Buona Domenica, Trenta Ore per la Vita , Miss Italia and commercials such as Venus and Clinians have seen the use of objects designed by Sandro Santantonio. He has received several publications on the most important national and international magazines such as Domus, Interni, Ottagono, Interior Design, Elle, Elle Decore, Dwell, Vogue, Abitare, GdA, Capital , HOME, Marie Claire Maison, Code, CasaD, CasaViva, Box, Abitare, DDN, Proyecto Contract, Modus, MD, Ambijrntr, Prestige Design, Compass-es, Designetal, Mondo, Suite, il Corriere della Sera, Dimore, La Repubblica, La Stampa, Il Sole 24 Ore, Spazio Casa, Capital, Raum und Wohnen, Maison & Ambiances, Donna & Benessere, Schoner Wohnen, Casa Y Jardin, Ait, Ideales heim, Emporium and others.
